More Updates
at 05/14/2006 9:50pm

As you no doubt realize, we have added new features to the game today, such as the completely re-done profile pages that allow for much more customization. We have worked on some more stuff today, but it likely won't be finished in time for an update about it, so we will shoot for tomorrow or the day after on them.

Rate Images
at 05/13/2006 9:04pm

Now all the images that are uploaded for public use can now be rated using the "Images (Rate)" link under the "Creator 2.0" menu.

Doing this serves several purposes.

The most popular images will be sorted first in line to be used for creating content and crop purposes. So, letting people know you like their art is a good thing to do.

Also, the community has the power to remove images from the game by giving them a -5 prop rating. Once this rating is reached, the image is gone and will no longer be on any listings.

Please help us keep Battle Magica free of offensive, violent, gross, or pornographic images. We have faith in the community and we know you will make us proud. :)

So, upload and rate images! We are going to keep working on a few more additions we hope to have online very soon!

WOW... OH WOW... Web 2.0 up in the hizz'ouse!!
at 05/13/2006 5:06pm

If you will look to your left really fast, you will notice a new menu category. It is called "Creator 2.0". This is an entirely new section of the site that we have been working on this whole time and have kept secret because we wanted it to be a complete surprise to the players.

For the last several months, we have been talking about how cool it would be if Battle Magica was completely Web 2.0 in design and function. Where the entire shape of the realm could be created by the players.

An Adrilan for the community, by the community. (So saith the ruler of Bethos.)

The two options you have right now are to upload and crop avatars, either for your personal usage (You greedy bastard) or for the entire community to enjoy. This is only the very tiny tip of the iceberg. It has taken a long time to build but everything else will fall under this initial update.

Now you will hopefully begin to see why Props are so important and why your vote will be the difference between a wonderful realm and a ... well, not so wonderful realm.

Much Much More to come in the coming hours and days. Please keep posted and we will update you as we finish features.

Chatsphere Changes / Working on New Features
at 05/12/2006 11:59am

We made some changes to the chatsphere earlier and made it easier for new people to understand and to help encourage people to use the forums more. Also, many of you noticed that Ralek had changed his avatar around. This was because we are working on some new features and content for the site and that was part of the testing. Check back more this weekend as it develops.

Public Awareness Announcement
at 05/11/2006 11:23pm

We just wanted to take a minute to make sure everyone knows that if you ever see the site is looking funny or something does not feel or work normal, don't hesitate to contact a Gamemaster via Email or Magica Mail. It only takes a second and you could be exposing a VERY large problem (Like making the site visible to the human eye). We may not respond, but rest assured we will always read. You will be doing us a great help to keep an eye out on things. Thank you!

Mad Props Yo
at 05/11/2006 1:07am

We've made some adjustments in the props system to better reflect their purpose in the game.

Props, despite their inclusion in the top 10 lists, were never meant to be wielded as a weapon against people you don't like, nor were they meant to be used as a popularity meter.

Unfortunately, a few people abused the system (as much as is possible with a 1 vote per post method) and made us implement a few changes.

First of all, what is a prop? A prop is your power to shape the world of Adrilan into the community you wish to see here. The reason we decided that we would only have 1 prop the same as any other player is to signify the importance of your 1 vote.

You have the power to keep the chats clear of hostile and rude remarks. You have the power to rate the globs and show your support to our artistic players. Soon, props will have ENORMOUS power to shape Adrilan. We want you to use them wisely.

So, to clarify things, we have removed the props listing from the top ten as well as made it so that a post must go to -5 to be not shown by default.

Please help Adrilan, and do not hurt it. We need all your help and support to keep the magic alive.

-Ralek and Dirk

Fo'Shizzle my Pizzle
at 05/10/2006 10:51pm

We have been hard at work behind the scenes here at Battle Magica Resurrection Spectacular Beta Explosion Extravaganza V.4 !!1!

Well, that is the best title we could come up with on short notice, but we are working on it.

Also on the agenda for today was a lot of much needed de-cluttering of the menus on the left and right sides of the screen after logging in. They were choking 98% of all the badgers who were logging onto the site from the internet cafe deep in the heart of the forest. We've fixed it, and now we hope that we will escape the wrath of the ASPCA and PETA.

You will notice that when you open or close a section, it will stay that way for the duration of your session with us. We plan on making some ways to change your default preferences in the near future.

Also, we worked on a "quest log" page today but we didn't get it done in time for the "#$&#!%@ News Post" for today.

But some other things we've done, in case you missed them were:

We COMPLETELY CHANGED THE STAT POINTS in preparation for launching some new battle goodness. :) We've made a page for changing these stats, and we hope to have everything converted soon.

Also, when you go to your shop log or your allies list, you can now sort instantly by clicking the table headers. Try it... it is freaking badass. :)

Ok, you might be thinking to yourselves: "Wow, they just put up adventures, this is a lot of crap for one day." ... You would be right.

Bow down.

Adventure Fixes
at 05/09/2006 10:37pm

We have been watching over the adventure system and made some minor tweaks and edits. We have also added a new quest and a couple hidden maps. Through the rest of the week we will continue adding content to the entire system. If you still have any comments or ideas please post them in the General Chat so we can review them.

We've got a lot of new things coming this way, so keep checking back.

Adventure Beta now OPEN!
at 05/08/2006 10:13pm

Beta Adventures are now enabled. The are a work in progress and we are happy to take any comments and thoughts. Please be gentle with us as they are new and we are still adding new things to them. Click the Explore link to the left and get started!

For anyone who may be having trouble moving or finding things, remember to try the "W, A, S, D" keys on your keyboard. The Number Keys and arrow keys will also move your character around on the map. Find which set works best for your web-browser. You can also use the Number Key "0" and "Esc" key to close notifications without using your mouse. If you are trying to find something located on the map, be sure to click the "Map" tab and select "Search Area" under the drop down menu. Good Luck and Happy Adventuring!
